The ultimate list of wide fit shoe brands

The ultimate list of wide fit shoe brands

We all know our preferred shoe size measured in length – but what is your preferred shoe width? Strangely enough we never get asked this question when going shoe shopping. This is sad because many people could benefit from wearing wider shoes to avoid a number of feet issues, such as blisters and bunions. Our mission is to find not only the best but also the coolest wide fit shoe brands out there. Cause – let’s face it – too many wide fit shoes compromise on style, which is absolutely unnecessary.

Dedicated wide fit vs standard fit

Some shoe brands have a dedicated wide fit shoe line. We will try to list some of the best shoe brands below. However many shoe brands provide some shoe models in a quite wide fit even though that the shoes are merely marked as a standard shoe size measured in length. The Good Shoe Project is on a mission to find not only wide fit shoe brands (without compromising on style) but also quality shoe brands that provide standard fit shoes in somewhat wider measurements.

What is wide fit shoes?

Shoes for women can come in different widths from narrow, regular, wide, extra wide and triple wide. However many brands don’t specify the width of the shoes, which is sad, because many brands actually provide wider fits even though it isn’t defined. Even the below table varies in measurements from brand to brand in the same way that ordinary shoe lengths varies from brand to brand, but it gives you an idea of what to look for.

  • Narrow A
  • Regular B
  • Wide D
  • Wide E
  • Extra wide EE
  • Extra extra wide EEE
